Breaking Free featured in Champion Life Magazine
11/1/2010 TACOMA, WA. Today Champions Centre released its fall issue of Champion Life Magazine with two feature articles by Erik Van Alstine and Chris Dunayski. Erik is the author of Breaking Free and Chris is the president of Breaking Free’s publisher, a discipleship ministry called Project 28. “Project 28 is so proud to be part of the Champions Centre family,” said Chris. “Together, Erik and I have spent thirty-five years under the incredible leadership and wisdom of pastor Kevin Gerald. That wisdom has paid off, and we are so happy to be contributing back to God’s house and beyond.”
Chris is a key leader at Champions Centre, and he and his family has been there since 1992. Erik is part of the teaching team at Champions Centre as well. He’s been with pastor Kevin since 1991, and was ordained at Champions Centre in 1992. “There’s tremendous power in loyalty and longevity in the local church,” says Erik. “God planted my wife Sandy and I here in 1991, and here we are, nineteen years later, with six kids, with an awesome church family, flourishing and growing like never before. Psalm 92:13 says, ‘planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.’ I’m not old yet, but I plan to be stayin’ green and bearing fruit at Champions Centre for a long time!”
